At the small-town Cedar Park Hospital, Dr. Kate Stafford (Taylor Cole)
is starting a one-year orthopaedic fellowship just before Christmas, the latest
in a long line of similar placements.
At the same time, native son of Cedar Falls Kevin Matthews (Steve
Lund) is back in town for Christmas for the first time in six years.
After several random encounters they both find festive packages on
their doorsteps containing a mysterious old key and a holiday riddle.
Intrigued they both set off independently to solve the riddle and end
up simultaneously at an antique mailbox in the town square and inside they find
another riddle.
So together they embark on the mission to solve each riddle in turn,
and as they do, they start to fall for each other, which makes them both
consider a future in Cedar Falls and a possible happily-ever-after.
