Mia
Park (Jessica Lowndes) works for the Seattle Tourism Board as a webpage editor
and was expecting to spend Christmas alone, when on one rainy night she
encounters a stray dog and takes him in for the night.
Living
alone and being unaccustomed to having a dog in the house she decides to take
the dog to a shelter where she met Max Covington (Ezra Moreland) the
belligerent manager and his much more reasonable sister Penny (Cassandra
Sawtell) and leaves with the dog which she names Russell.
They
have another encounter in the park later with his own dog which has been
sickening and it’s another caustic exchange between them but the dog’s bond
instantly.
Ater
that meeting his own dog rallied so Mia agrees to let Max's ailing dog find
solace with Russell, in exchange for Max showing her the hidden gems of Seattle
which she filmed and posted on the tourism board website.
Through
their journey together, they reveal the skeletons in their respective closets
and discover new possibilities and a meaningful connection.
However,
things are thrown up in the air with the arrival of her parents Jim and Cindy
(Christopher Shyer and Lynda Boyd) from Florida and his ex-girlfriend Amy (Ella
Cannon) from LA threatens to derail their burgeoning relationship.
