Recent
new arrival to the small town of Forest Grove NY, Emily Lane (Sarah Drew), who
owns and operates a year-round Christmas store “Under the Mistletoe”, is now
approaching her second Christmas in the town.
On
the surface she is a quiet store owner and cat lady, but Emily has a secret
past and she moved to Forest Grove to escape that past.
Her
friendship/romantic relationship with Detective Sam Wilner (Peter Mooney) is
back on and his daughter Violet (Sierra Marilyn Riley) is back working as her
shop assistant.
However,
as they investigate the murder of a
restauranteur prior to the grand opening Emily shelters Ray (David Hewlett) who is
a suspect, and keeps it from Sam, but he is rattled by the arrival of his
ex-wife in town.
The truth comes out in the end and Emily confronts
Sam
about him is investigating her past.
On
the conclusion of the case and having survived an encounter with a deep freeze,
they have their first proper date but then she has an unexpected visitor from
her old life.
