THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A BLUEGRASS CHRISTMAS (2024)

 

After a dispute between Katie Pendleton (Amanda Jordan) and their biggest donor Jim Breckenridge (Mike Shara) he pulls any future funding for the Fields of Blue horse sanctuary meaning they would be facing closure I they don’t find alternative funding.

The sanctuary was started by her parents Don and Sarah (Rick Amsbury and Stephanie Moore), so Katie feels responsible, so she has to save it, and help comes from an unexpected source Grant Breckenridge (David Pinard), the son of their former donor, and he suggests a fundraiser.

But they need a headliner so she must convince her grandfather, ormer Bluegrass star Ben Pendleton (Shaun Johnston) to perform at a Christmas benefit concert after 20 years of retirement, in the meantime the two of them form a band together.

But can they get the fundraiser off the ground and raise the necessary funds and will Katie and Grant form a duet?

At their music studio in Danesville Tennessee, a Christmas Song co-written by long term friends Brooke Remington (Alexandra Harris) and Chance Owens (Jonathan Stoddard) had attracted the attention of a New York music company.

Which was why Rob Benson (Ryan Wesley Gilreath) a charming executive turns up out of the blue and makes an offer to buy the sole rights for the song.

Chance refuses the offer as he doesn’t want to give up future royalties, but Brooke disagrees.  

So Rob Benson stays in town to try and lure her away with promises of fortune and glory and drive a wedge between them.

So will Brooke accept the offer of a lifetime and leave her best friend and writing partner behind.

Is there more than music between them that is holding her back?

10-year-old Clara (Kearstin Moore) is a tech-savvy video blogger and is planning her Ultimate Christmas with her parents (Tiffany Cain and  Rajesh Rajan) and she is very excited.

However her plans two days before Christmas her plans begin to unravel firstly, when her father has to unexpectedly leave for New York on business and then when her dog, Luke, runs away and she is distraught.

Her expectations or the perfect Christmas remain high but has to try and find a way to adjust to the realities of the situation or will Clara get the ultimate Christmas she has been vlogging of? With the help of her Aunt Lucy (Katherine Smith), Uncle Scott (Lee Edward Smith Jr.) and Cousin Talia (Aurora Richards).

Elizabeth Bird (Malin Akerman) is sent to her old hometown by her future father-in-law to buy a Ski Resort from Randy Collins (Ryan Hansen).

She hopes to do the deal as soon as possible and avoid having to see her estranged parents Jimmy and Helen Bird (Chris Mullinax and Mary Maxson) and her sister Lynn (Amy Smart), but Randy is unwilling to sell.

Without a quick deal, Elizabeth is forced to stay and reunite with her family.

Elizabeth realises that Randy is an old school mate and as her sister is focused on winning The Christmas Classic at the resort for the tenth-year running, Elizabeth changes her own focus and becomes desperate to finally beat her sister and win Randy into the bargain.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A DANCE IN THE SNOW (2024)

 

Melanie (Erica Cerra) has devoted her life to raising her autistic daughter Jenny (Vanessa Burghardt) and now she's a 17-year-old senior in high school, looking forward to college.

But following a bad experience at her junior year Winter Formal, Jenny isn’t interested in attending her final Christmas dance before graduating.

But Jenny and her friends Bella Caitlin and Will (Emma Elle Paterson, Julianna Paul and Dorian Giordano) secretly plan a neurodiverse party of their own.

Meanwhile Melanie works with Jenny's literature teacher Daniel (Mark Ghanimé) to make the school dance more inclusive, also in secret.

Working closely, and Christmas being Christmas Melanie and Daniel start to fall or each other while Jenny and Will also develop feelings, but when the secrets are revealed will it drive a wedge between the usually tightknit mother and daughter, or will it be a Happy outcome all round.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CHRISTMAS CAROL: THE MOVIE (2001)

 

Simon Callow stars as miser Ebenezer Scrooge in this animated retelling of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol”.

The classic tale in which he is visited on Christmas Eve by the ghost of his old partner Jacob Marley (Nicolas Cage), who scares him with tales of doom and warns him he will have further visitations.

The first visitor is the ghost of Christmas Past (Jane Horrocks), the second visitor is the ghost of Christmas Present (Michael Gambon) and the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come, who teach him the true meaning of Christmas by revealing to him the truth about his own miserable existence, what opportunities he wasted in his youth, his current catalogue of cruelties, and the dire fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways.

 

The other main characters in the tale are provided by the vocal talents Kate Winslet, Rhys Ifans, Juliet Stevenson, Robert Llewellyn and Colin McFarlane.
