THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – HALLMARK HALL OF FAME: A SEASON FOR MIRACLES (1999)

 

When Berry Thompson (Laura Dern) is hospitalized following yet another overdose and her children Alanna and J.T. (Mae Whitman and Evan Sabara) are threatened with foster care, so their Aunt Emilie (Carla Gugino) drives away with them and they end up in the sleepy town of Bethlehem just before Christmas, but she needs a miracle to keep their family together after Berry is sentenced to 5 years in prison. When they visit a diner, they unknowingly meet an Angel (Patty Duke) who directs the to an empty house.

A series of kindnesses and coincidences gives the trio a chance at happiness especially when Police Captain Nathan Blair (David Conrad) comes not their lives.

But everything unravels on Christmas Eve and Emilie finds herself in front of Judge Nancy Jakes (Lynn Redgrave).

So, will they get the Happy Christmas they all deserve?

Karen and Phil Lewis (Marnie McPhail and Hugh Thompson) have their newborn second child, Paul, stolen on Christmas Eve, by a troubled soul Margaret Whelmer (Nola Augustson) posing as a nurse.

determined police sergeant Jane McKinley (Leslie Hope) leads the charge to follow the clues ably assisted by Constable Graham Taylor (Gabriel Hogan) in order to find the baby before it's too late.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – WHEN ANGELS COME TO TOWN (2004)

 

Max (Peter Falk) is an angel who leaves a package with shop clerk Sally Reid (Tammy Blanchard), but he bungled his heavenly mission, so his boss Jo (Katey Sagal) comes to earth to correct his mistake and benches him.

She must recover the mysterious box that had been lost for decades and deliver it to Karl Hoffman (Seann Gallagher), and it must be done before Christmas, but she has never been to earth before and overindulges on earthly pleasures so must call on Max to help her.

Karl must heal the rift between him and his dad Franz (Vlasta Vrana) while Sally is trying to secure a future for her and her younger brother Jimmy (Alexander Conti) and Karl and Sally come together.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS FOR THREE (2024)

 

Successful architect Benito Luaces (Mario Silva) receives a visit out of the blue social worker Sophie Walker (Ashley Brinkman) to tell him he is now the legal guardian of the 10-year-old son of his best friends from high school after they were killed in a car crash.

So, without hesitation he takes on the responsibility of raising Jason (Jasper Burger) which impresses Sophie as she was raised in the care system.

It coincided with her being subjected to unwanted attention from her new boss Aaron Schmidt (Kenney Myers) who threatens to ruin her career if she continues to resist.

But ultimately, he fails and she is pushed towards Ben and Jason, and they make a Christmas for three.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET (1956) (THE 20TH CENTURY-FOX HOUR)

There have been a few versions of Miracle on 34th Street and are well worth watching, though some more than others.

It’s the story of a child, Susan Walker (Sandy Descher) who has been brought up by her mother Doris (Teresa Wright) not to believe in Santa Claus however she unknowingly employs the real Kris Kringle (Thomas Mitchell) to be Santa Claus at Macy’s department store and the more time Susan spends with Kris the more she believes.

However, Kris is arrested and must go to trial where Fred Gaily (Macdonald Carey) must prove he is the real Santa and is not insane.
