In
1905 spirited and charitable Rhode Island socialite Ella (Ginna Claire Mason) dreams of using her wealth to help the less
fortunate in Newport.
However
after her father tells her that he intends to announce her engagement at the
approaching Christmas Eve Ball to a man she has never met, she is angry so goes
out in her sailboat to clear her head.
As
a comet shoots across the night sky, she wishes for a different life and to
feel true love, then she is shocked to suddenly find she is no longer alone in
the boat because Nick (Wes Brown) is at the helm.
An
argument ensues over ownership of the vessel until they reach dryland when she
realises, she is in fact in Newport in the year 2025.
Nick
is a local historian and works at her old family home, which is now a museum
but as she learns about her legacy and experiences glimpses of the modern world
she grows close to Nick and finally knows how true love feels.
But
she must travel back in time to her past when the Comet reappears on Christmas
Eve because every day, she spends in 2025 erases more of her from history.
So
is her newfound love to be cruelly snatched away from her or is there something
more surprising awaiting her at home?
