Tennis star Luke Hollis (James Lafferty) finally won a major tournament after a long career in the game and at the press conference announced his retirement before heading home to Pinecrest Florida to his family’s Sandy Lake Racquet Club, however when he returns home, he discovers the club is about to be sold to a developer.
Luke
is naturally unhappy, as he learned to play tennis at the club, and he had
imagined taking over the business himself, but he is also unhappy that half the
club has been converted into pickleball courts, and although he has contempt
for the game it appears that Pickleball is the only thing that can save the
club.
So
along with Caroline (Zibby Allen), the club's pickleball coach, who is
fighting to save the club, Luke agrees to compete in the Christmas Pickleball
Tournament, which they need to win to save the club.
A
tall order because Caroline has to teach Luke to play the game first, which is
no mean feat given his disdain for the game, but she gets through to him, in
more ways than anyone expected.
