After relationship writer Cara (Taylor Cole) is dumped by her boyfriend on New Years Eve she decides to give up on dating.

Her boss Diane (Kristen Harris) encourages her to write about it, so she books a last-minute Ski Trip for her and her and her best friend Megan (Rukiya Bernard) hoping it will spark inspiration for the piece.

Her plan is complicated however when upon arrival they discover their chalet is double booked so they have to share with two men Ben and Sean (Jack Turner and Dewshane Williams).

Then the snowstorm hits and the foursome get snowed in, and Cara and Ben are thrown together.

So will her dating embargo survive the snowbound weekend?

All three girls have baggage; Charlotte is trying to reconnect with her birth mother and deal with unresolved feelings for lifelong friend Liam (Wes Brown).

Emily and her husband Paul (Ryan Sands) are dealing with time consuming careers and a desire to start a family, and Nora is emotionally and professionally rudderless but until she meets

Maizy (Lyndie Greenwood).

As the sisters search for clues on the scavenger hunt the bond between them is rekindled, but will that be enough to help them deal with their other issues.

A young woman, Harmony Lang (Kathleen Cannon), loses her job at start of the holiday season and has to make economies so she moves into a tiny house fit for one.

As a stop gap, she takes a seasonal job as an elf at Santa’s grotto where she worked with seasoned Elf Faith (Krissy Kapp) and Santa aka Carl (Freddy Walker Jr.).

There is an instant attraction between Harmony and Carl and as they get nearer to Christmas, he tells her his greatest secret relating to his special family and helps them with a big plan for Christmas.

Emerging photographer Dani McCalan (Humberly González) is overwhelmed by all the Christmas events and deadlines, so she tells her parents, Raquel and Luke (Gabriela Reynoso and Christopher Shyer) she’s not going home for Christmas.

Her dad asks her to do a favour for his old college roommate John Kasmerec (Barclay Hope) to meet his lawyer daughter Amelia (Ali Liebert) for coffee.

She reluctantly agrees and they have a pleasant interaction over coffee after which she is ambushed by her parents.

So with Amelia’s dad pressuring her to get back out in the world following a breakup with her girlfriend the Christmas before and Dani’s mother micromanaging her they decide that pretending to date in the run up to Christmas Eve is the perfect solution for them both.

But at some point, along the way, it becomes apparent that they are only pretending to each other.
