French Canadian Dennis (Paul Giamatti) is out on parole and is unable to find work because of his criminal history.
To
add insult onto injury he finds out that his long-time partner in crime,
easy-going charmer Rene (Paul Rudd), has begun a relationship with his ex-wife.
Despite
a growing animosity between them, they reluctantly agree to work together one
last time as Dennis wants to make enough money to buy his estranged daughter
the piano, she’s always wanted.
So
the odd couple travel to New York City with a get rich quick scheme selling
Christmas trees.
