Claire La Foret (Jennifer Finnigan) manages the family lodge on Shadow Island and is expecting a quiet Christmas with her best friend Monica Johnson (Natalie Brown) until she receives a letter from her Tycoon Grandpa (Cedric Smith) announcing the revival of his family's traditional Christmas gathering, which hadn’t been held for five years following the mysterious event when his daughter Jean was drowned in the lake.
But
it's to be a onetime only gathering as he has terminal cancer and as part of
the celebration is their traditional treasure-hunt the winner of which will be
Grandpa’s sole heir.
Claire
suggests that her brother Ian (Morgan Kelly),
her Uncle Stuart (Mike O'Brien) his daughter Natasha
(Jenny Pudavick) and her Aunt Margaret (Nola Augustson)
should set aside their differences aside and team up and share the prize.
Grandpa
dies during the game and his personal assistant Sergio
Boniti
(Stefano DiMatteo) supervises the game until its
conclusion.
However
Jean's death haunts the game, but then it transpires someone else is playing a
different kind of game.
