The
story centres on Christmas Eve at 7 Cherry Lane over a period of 44 years
beginning in 1966 when single guy David (Benjamin Hollingsworth) has his plans
for a simple Christmas dashed when his neighbour Stephanie (Chelsea Hobbs) drop
the bombshell on him that she has won a contest to have singer Tommy Saunders to
broadcast his Christmas Eve TV special live from her house, however she used
his address for the contest.
In
1981, it will be the last Christmas on Cherry Lane for John and Lizzie Hamilton
(John Brotherton and Erin Cahill) after John receives a job offer in Michigan
and Lizzie finds out she's pregnant.
And
in 2000, best friends Matt (Sam Page) and Rebecca (Brooke D'Orsay) discover unexpected
feelings developing between them as they try to find out who is behind a series
of Christmas-themed random acts of kindness.
Amidst
the trials and tribulations of the three featured Christmas Eves there are
characters that thread their way across the years.
