Liz Darling (Katee Sackhoff) reluctantly returns to her hometown with her daughter Hannah (Emma Oliver) after her estranged father, Dennis (Terry O'Quinn) injures his arm saving a small child from a falling Christmas Tree.
The reclusive nature of his life and reluctance to celebrate Christmas
following his wife’s death was the reason for their estrangement.
However, it’s not until she returns that she realises how bad things
have got in her absence, particularly the imminent foreclosure on his house.
The only thing left that might save the day is the “Christmas boat
lights parade” which pays a cash prize, the only problem with that is the boat
is not looking its best, so she enlists the help of Luke Fletcher (Patrick
Sabongui) her childhood best friend who still lives in town, and that brings
old feelings to the surface.
So, will Liz rise to the occasion and is there a greater prize at
stake?
