Well-travelled Sociology professor Anna Collucia (Sarah Power) is home for Christmas to look after her grandfather Vincent (Beau Bridges) who is struggling with dementia and allow her mother Madelynn (Gwenda Lorenzetti) to take a well-earned holiday.
Being home, she is shocked at how much he had deteriorated in the two
months that had elapsed since she last saw him.
When she speaks with neurologist Dr. Greg Krasinski (Markian Tarasiuk)
after Vincent does poorly in the cognitive test and he suggests that
stimulating his senses, like taste and smell could help his memory.
So, she galvanises her siblings, RJ and Ella (Jesse Irving and Morgana
Wyllie) into trying to recreate their long-deceased Nona’s famous sugo pasta
sauce to serve for Christmas Eve dinner and stimulate memories of home.
