After the funeral of Billionaire Oil Tycoon Howard 'Red' Stevens (James Garner) his dysfunctional family all gather at the office of his lawyer, partner and friend Mr. Theophilus Hamilton (Bill Cobbs) and his associate Miss Hastings (Lee Meriwether) to see what was in the will for them.
One
by one they came and went from the room with Red’s stinging words still ringing
in their ears.
Last
but by no means least was Grandson Jason Stevens (Drew Fuller)
who had spent most of his adult life as a Trust Fund brat until he was cut off
from the family money and had been living off petty crime and begging.
Jason
was singled out for special treatment as Red had every faith that he could
redeem himself, so he was assigned twelve apparently simple tasks labelled “gifts”
meant to challenge him and set him on a journey of discovery.
But
it was meeting Alexia (Ali Hillis) and her terminally ill daughter Emily
(Abigail Breslin) that changed his perspective of life and money, and becomes a
better man than even his Grandfather expected and received the “Ultimate Gift”
