For the first time in years globetrotting travel writer Eliza Gardiner (Krystin Arroyo) finds herself at a loose end after her travel magazine assignment gets cancelled, so she returns to her hometown of Maryville for Christmas with her parents, Nora and Jim (Sarah Kent and Ben Lomu) and her siblings Austin and Kate (Dave Martinez and Emma Andreasen Moore).
She
is surprised to find that not much has changed in the town despite the passage
of time, and her Christmas loving family continues to participate in all of the
same old family traditions, wearing ugly Christmas sweaters, singing at the
local care center, Christmas baking and all the other festive events.
And
it’s while she is participating in all the familia activities, that she is
reunited with old flame Will Matthews (James Gaisford), who helps her reconnect
with her family and the season and rediscover the beauty of what she had been
missing with her family and her hometown.
