Icicles hang from the gutters
All
on the landscape is still
Ice
crystals pattern the glass
Snow
stands deep on the sill
Curtains
drawn against the dark
As
a fire roars in the hearth
While
my darling lays in my arms
And
love burns hot in my heart
Icicles hang from the gutters
All
on the landscape is still
Ice
crystals pattern the glass
Snow
stands deep on the sill
Curtains
drawn against the dark
As
a fire roars in the hearth
While
my darling lays in my arms
And
love burns hot in my heart
A good friend of mine
Does
his Christmas shopping
In
less than two hours
With
decs for party popping
And
Gifts for twenty-five
Friends
and family
All
on Christmas Eve
Including
a six-foot tree
Despite the general awfulness of the Christmas song there are however always exceptions to the rule, and I have a short list of personal favorites.
Without
exception all my choices not only include the song but the best performer of
that song and so in no particular order here is my first selection.
“White
Christmas” written by Irving Berlin and sung by Bing Crosby.
I'm dreaming of a White Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white
Exasperated by bratty, ungrateful and self-centered children kids, Santa's Elves, led by the militant and aptly named Diva (Ansley Williams) decide to go on strike.
As a result, Santa is forced to bring six exceptionally mischievous and ill-behaved teens, from where
they are causing havoc at the Mall, to teach them a lesson, and in addition to
help those Elves who haven’t gone on strike, and they are conscripted into Santa’s
Boot Camp which is not unlike “Breakfast Club” at Christmas.
However, the unscrupulous youths don’t take
well to their incarceration at all well, but after several unsuccessful attempts to escape, including stealing
Santa's sleigh, they are forced to watch “naughty/nice” videos where they have
to vote on kids' behaviour, which they very much enjoy until the moment they
see videos of their own behavior and have to vote themselves naughty, then they
slowly begin to change.
This is a fun holiday movie for the whole entire
family to enjoy which doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Erica Bierman as Twinkle and Storm Reid as Sparkle
are the stars.
The Celts used to bring a large log indoors as a tribute to the sun god this was called the Yule log.
Celts in Cornwall, during the Christmas reveling would chalk a symbol of a man on the Yule log in a cheery reference to the human sacrifices who used to be thrown on the bonfire.
In Canada Japanese oranges have a special meaning to the people who live on the Canadian Prairies.
The
arrival of a gift from the East, at the coldest time of the year has brightened
many homes and Christmas feasts for over a hundred years.
It
is believed by many that the festive season only really begins when Santa Claus
welcomes the first shipment of Japanese mandarin oranges at the Port of
Vancouver.
The
shipment of fruit is accompanied by young Japanese girls dressed in tradition
kimonos.
On
Christmas morning the wonderful fruit is found in many a child's Christmas
stocking.
