THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE WISH THAT CHANGED CHRISTMAS (1991)

A beautiful, animated tale about an orphan named Ivy who is left all alone at the orphanage, so Miss Shepherd (Beverly Garland) puts her on a train to spent Christmas at a different orphanage in Appleton with strict instructions on which stop to get off at.

However, she mistakes a broken electric sign reading “Welcome to Ivy” instead of Mill Valley, so she jumps off the train and shouts, "It's me, Ivy!".

On the train she wished for a grandma and a doll but once in the town she finds neither until she is found by Officer Jones (William Boyett) who takes Ivy home to his wife (Tress MacNeille) who gives her a doll called Holly.

So, both of her wishes came true, and she never had to return to the orphanage ever again.
