Hammonds Bank have a long-standing tradition where
the Chairman, in keeping with Charles Dickens character Scrooge, must deliver a
prize Turkey and the modern equivalent of six shillings to a poor family in Camden
Town.
So, Sir Percy Hammond (Bill Fraser) instructs the
newest member of the Bank, Nigel Playfayre (Peter Chelsom) to carry out the
task.
However, he collides with a street entertainer and
loses the envelope with the address, and it is picked up by a young boy Viv (Danny
Wooder).
So, Viv and his best mate Gos (Clive Parker) try and
return it to the bank, but they can’t get in.
Meanwhile Nigel tries to find the name another way
which takes him to Judy Tall (Lesley Manville).
But in the end, it’s up to Viv and Gos to show
Nigel the way.
