Chicago
doll house designer Clifford Godfrey (Andrew McCarthy) is attracted to the
wrong kind of women, going for style over substance, and his latest stunning
girlfriend dumps him on Christmas Eve a few hours before they are due to fly
off to an island paradise for Christmas.
He
goes to a bar to console himself and meets Amanda Hughes (Kelly Preston) a
stunning fellow dumpee so he takes her away instead, but she proves to be a
beautiful mistake.
While
he’s there, he meets Clare Enfield (Helen Hunt) who he had met briefly in
Chicago at the travel agency, but she does not fit the mould of his perfect
woman, but she has something to give him that none of the glamour girls can
give him, love.
