THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – FOREVER CHRISTMAS (2018)

 

Thirty-three-year-old scenic designer Will Saunders (Christopher Russell) decorates his small-town home all year round, and celebrates Christmas every day of the year which brings him to the attention of Super Real Productions, specialists in reality TV.

Documentary filmmaking graduate Sophia Worthy (Chelsea Hobbs) is given the task to persuade Will to expose himself to the intrusive glare of the cameras and risk ridicule.

While working on a holiday-season show she finds herself falling for her mysterious, unlikely new star, while renewing her long-lost faith in Xmas in the process.

Following years of bit parts and near-misses, struggling actress Charlotte Lacy (Maggie Lawson) lands the lead part an off-Broadway production of “A Christmas Carol”, just as she’s about to throw in the towel and move to Chicago to take a real job.

There are two major issues though, firstly she has history with the director Julian Walker (Brennan Elliott) and secondly the lease on the historic theatre is set to expire and the landlord is planning to sell it for redevelopment.

The first problem is resolved as Charlotte falls in love with Julian but to save the theatre will require a Christmas miracle.

Due to one of the Swanson Property Developers Vice Presidents suddenly leaving to work for a rival company, cubicle-sharing Rebecca Hoffman (Carly Pope) and Chris Coulter (Kristoffer Polaha), find themselves vying for the same promotion.

Their first task is to work together organising the company's Christmas party, which is designed for them to court a potentially large client.

However, while spending so much time together, they learn more about each other and their very different Holiday traditions and celebrations, hers being Christmas, while his is Hanukkah, and a closeness develops between them and the prize loses it attraction.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE CHRISTMAS SETUP (2020)

 

Hard working and talented Manhattan lawyer Hugo Spencer (Ben Lewis), disappointed not to get the position as partner, issues an ultimatum to his boss, George Vogel (Glen Grant) just before he and his BFF since college Madelyn McKay (Ellen Wong), are to head off to Milwaukee to spend Christmas with his long-widowed mother (Fran Drescher) and his brother Aiden Spencer (Chad Connell).

Once in Milwaukee, Hugo finds that his mother, as part of her role as President of the Carroll Avenue Neighborhood Association, has assigned them all with 24/7 tasks organizing the annual Christmas Eve Festival at the historic Carroll Avenue Train Station, which is how Hugo meets Patrick Ryan (Blake Lee) again, his high school crush, and their repeated interactions eventually lead him to question if a big promotion is as important to him as he first thought.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS EVER AFTER (2020)

Successful Romantic Adventure writer Izzi Simmons (Ali Stroker) is working on the fourth in the popular series of books, but her best friend and editor Mila (Kim Nelson) thinks that the ending of her first draft, which was delivered late, is too perfect and her main character Desmond Ranes is unrealistic.

So, with a new deadline of Christmas Eve Izzie convinces Mila to allow her to work on the necessary edits from the Antler Lodge in Silver Springs.

Which was where she went every year, as she was a traditionalist and in her view of the perfect Christmas it was a winter wonderland.

So the Lodge was her Christmas home away from home, and Bob (Bill Marchant), the proprietor, was as much a traditionalist as her.

However, on her arrival she is horrified to find Bob is retiring and his son Matt (Daniel di Tomasso) is taking over, and he wants to make improvements to the Lodge.

She is also slightly taken aback by his startling resemblance to the leading character in her books and as its Christmastime sparks fly between them and romance blooms and she gets the ending to her book and her hero.

Brand strategist Chelsea Simms (Vanessa Lengies) is devastated when her brilliant idea for a new dating app is stolen by a workplace rival, but following a Christmas wish upon a shooting star good-hearted Chelsea’s fortunes takes a turn for the better.

When she discovers the popular dating app “The Nice List”, has granted her magical powers, which she uses to teach all the selfish, “naughty” people in her life a lesson until Mrs. Kringle (Morgan Fairchild) and best friend Fisher Dougherty (Evan Williams) set her on the path to use her newfound ability to make all of the naughty people in her life learn how to be good again and also find her way back onto the Nice List herself in time for Christmas Eve.
