Author of one published novel, New Yorker Katie Connell (Maggie Lawson), is doing freelance work as she struggles for inspiration for book number two.
So,
approaching the Christmas season she decides to take a short vacation to
experience a little more of life outside of her normal environs which she hopes
will make her a better writer.
Her
destination is the Northern Vermont town of Evergreen, a town famed for its
Christmas passion and very popular with holiday tourists and she is much
impressed with what she sees and who.
Namely
native Evergreenian Ben Baxter (Paul Greene) with whom she felt an immediate
attraction which is not diminished by their subsequent encounters.
However,
what starts as a vacation turns into a working holiday when her mother and
business magazine editor Patti Connell (Laura Soltis) asks her to write a story
for the Christmas edition.
Katie
fails to find a business angle so decides to find a story about Evergreen and
its Christmas traditions and the search for a long-lost time capsule.
