On Christmas Eve in post war Belgium, a fighter pilot Freddie (Ben Radcliffe), unexpectedly finds himself on his way to England where he can spend Christmas at home.
After
taking off in his De Haviland Vampire Jet he heads for Holland and the North
Sea, however once he’s over open water he suffers a catastrophic instrument
failure and gets lost mid-flight.
With
no landmarks, no radio, no compass and running out of fuel he needs a miracle
to land safely.
And
then a mysterious pilot (John Travolta) flying an RAF Dakota appears from
nowhere and guides him down where he is greeted by F.L. Joe Marks (Steven Mackintosh)
at a disused airfield and the mystery continues.
