After cub reporter Sofia (Skye Coyne) is told by her boss Perry (Jackée Harry) that due to downsizing she no longer has a permanent position at the paper, she has to go freelance, however Perry does give her an assignment to write a Christmas Story.
Later
in her new apartment building while putting some boxes in the basement she
discovers an unopened and undelivered Secret Santa present addressed to “Abigail”.
After
discovering the package dated back to the early 1970’s and contained a
priceless antique Nutcracker, according to Historian and former treasure hunter
Jackson (Alex Trumble), she believes she
has found a Christmas story that will save her career.
But
as Sofia and Jackson research its origins and become close, they discover its
tragic past and a find themselves the target of treasure hunters and wonder if they
survive the dangers of the present, they will have a future together.
