THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A FABLED HOLIDAY (2022)

When Talia was a child, her father gave her a fairy story book about a magical town called Wunderbrook shortly before he died and then she and her mother moved away leaving her childhood best friend Anderson behind.

Years later wannabee writer Talia and surgeon Anderson (Brooke D'Orsay and Ryan Paevey) reunite by chance in her bookshop.

Then through various magical means the end up at the same inn in a curiously magical town full of Christmas spirit called Wunderbrook, that restores its visitors when they need it most, and is vaguely familiar to everyone.

So, will the Christmas magic solve everyone’s problems?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE SEARCH FOR SECRET SANTA (2023)

 

After cub reporter Sofia (Skye Coyne) is told by her boss Perry (Jackée Harry) that due to downsizing she no longer has a permanent position at the paper, she has to go freelance, however Perry does give her an assignment to write a Christmas Story.

Later in her new apartment building while putting some boxes in the basement she discovers an unopened and undelivered Secret Santa present addressed to “Abigail”.

After discovering the package dated back to the early 1970’s and contained a priceless antique Nutcracker, according to Historian and former treasure hunter  Jackson (Alex Trumble), she believes she has found a Christmas story that will save her career.

But as Sofia and Jackson research its origins and become close, they discover its tragic past and a find themselves the target of treasure hunters and wonder if they survive the dangers of the present, they will have a future together.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – IVY AND MISTLETOE (2020)

 

When all the flights are cancelled Ivy Anderson (Julianne Michelle) is stuck in Charleston but is determined to get home to Boston for Christmas, so she sets off in her car despite her mother, (Cynthia Gibb), offering to celebrate Christmas when she arrives.

But after losing her phone in Maryland she crashes her car in the snow and gets stranded in the small town of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Unable to find a room at the Inn, the local mayor Judy Carson (Carrie Genzel) takes her in during the snowstorm.

Ivy is grateful for the kind hospitality but all she really wants is to get home for Christmas, but she meets the mayor’s son Max (Cody Calafiore) and it soon becomes apparent that she is exactly where she is supposed to be.

 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A GLENBROOKE CHRISTMAS (2020)

 

Before she takes over as CEO of the Los Angeles-based Morgan Organization, heiress Jessica Morgan (Autumn Reeser), seizes the opportunity, as Christmas approaches, to experience some relaxed holiday time.

She chooses to rent the house where her mother grew up, in the small town of Glenbrooke, Colorado.

Because of her wealth she is constantly on the radar of men but cannot judge whether they are interested in her or her money, so she travelled to Glenbrooke under an assumed name.

She immediately falls in love with her mum’s former home and the town.

Equally she falls in love with the first person she meets in the town, handsome fire chief, Kyle Buchanan (Antonio Cupo) though not immediately.

The only flies in the ointment of her restful Christmas are that the famous bells may not ring this Christmas Eve due to costly repairs to the motor drive and Kyle may not forgive Jessica for not being honest with him.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS ON CANDY CANE LANE (2022)

 

In icicle Falls, Ivy Donaldson (Andrea Barber) struggles to fill her late mother Muriel’s shoes, because she was the Christmas Maven and the Darling of Candy Cane Lane.

Losing her mum put a terrible strain on her marriage as she tried desperately to fill all the commitments her mother did with ease.

As a result, she separated from her husband Rob (Dan Payne) and although she tries her best with her daughter Jordan (Kerensa Cooper), she falls short of her promises to her as well.

But she is not the only one going through trials and tribulations in the Street but in the end, everybody gets together in unexpected festive ways and Ivy reconciles her priorities.

Nora Winters (Teri Hatcher) is a writer and CEO of a lifestyle brand and is pressured by the board to seek a partnership with an online dating app in order to save her job and her company.

Worse than that in order to win them over, she has to use the app to meet someone and write a column about falling in love by Christmas and her dating journey is photographed by charming and handsome photographer Jack Paxton (Dan Payne).

But as they go through the motions of setting up dates at different venues and she writes her column the chemistry grows between Nora and Dan and saving her job becomes less important.

After installation designer Emma McKenzie (Jill Winternitz) learns she has been passed over for the New Years project she is persuaded to travel to Scotland by her father Mike (Toby Rolt) who is researching their family history.

Almost as soon as she arrives, she is persuaded to help the small village community create a festive light display for the Christmas Village competition, despite the reservations of the local Laird Duncan Glenrothie (Lewis Howden) who owns the village.

The Laird reluctantly agrees providing his son Alex (Dominic Watters) works alongside her, and as they do they unite to create seasonal magic to the village and bring some romance into their lives.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS ON ALPACA FARM (2023)

 

After a dispute with her boss over sustainability, Jess (Kirsten Comerford) quits her job at a high-end fashion label in New York.

In order to launch her own line of sustainable luxury knits she teams up with Andrew (Matt Wells) a single dad and alpaca farmer with the intention of entering and winning a competition.

But as she learns about Alpaca farming and producing yarn from him, he learns about fashion from her, they both learn to love and bring Christmas joy and love to the farm.

Emily (Lacey Chabert) heads home to spend Christmas with her parents after breaking up with her boyfriend Dan (Jake Stormoen), however as soon as she arrives, she finds her parents are heading out the door to catch their flight to Florida.

So, she settles on a quiet reclusive Christmas watching holiday movies while staying at her parents’ house for the holidays, but her parents left Emily responsible for meeting all the holiday decorating requirements without telling her.

And the HOA is relentless in their determination to get Emily involved in the neighbourhood Christmas festivities led by the new HOA president, childhood friend Jared (Wes Brown).

Try as she may to avoid all the pressure to join in, she is eventually sucked in, and once in she finds not only that she is enjoying it but that she is also enjoying Jared’s company and Christmas could be the just the start for them.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A JENKINS FAMILY CHRISTMAS (2021)

 

On the first Christmas following her father’s death Baneatta (Regina Taylor) and her husband James (Robert Gossett) host a family Christmas.

In attendance are their children, Simone (Ashley Love-Mills) and Kenny (Anthony Chatmon II), Kenny’s white boyfriend Logan (Derek Chadwick), Baneatta’s sister Beverly (Kim Coles) and her daughter LaTrice (Bailey Bass).

Then amidst the family tensions they must make Christmas happen without getting into arguments, but the celebrations are marred by homophobia, racism, burst pipes at the church and the unexpected arrival of another sister, Brianna (Tammy Townsend).

Erica and Heidi Holden (Peyton List and Ella Cannon) become the fourth-generation owners of their family's business, Maple Valley Farm, the largest maple farm in Montana, after their mother Ina (Frances Flanagan) announces her decision to retire just before Christmas.

One of the first things they want to do is purchase the neighbouring Fernandez farm but that may be more difficult than they expect.

Ina’s announcement coincides with the arrival in the area of Aaron Davenport (Andrew W. Walker) and there is an immediate attraction, but then she finds out that he is a Real Estate Developer who is there to bid on the Fernandez land.

Though he is reluctant once he finds out that Erica wants it, but his father is insistent that he buys it, whatever the cost.

The sisters also have to overcome the difficulties of their different visions for the farm.

So, the path to a happy future is paved with difficulties, but will the journey lead to happiness?

Kaley (Kayla Wallace) is a part time social media wiz and full-time Au Pair to two lovely girls, Lily and Rose (Juliette Hawk and Cassidy Slingsby), is planning to return to her home in Ohio.

However, while the girls’ parents, Margaret, and Miles (Meghan K. Lees and Brendan J. Rowland) are out of town for a party a snowstorm hits and closes the airport and strands them in New York.

Despite the fact that their Uncle Ethan (Jeremy Guilbaut) arrives early from London for Christmas, as they didn’t really know him Kaley is reluctant to leave the girls in his charge so delays her trip home.

But while she ensures the girls miss none of their usual Christmas activities, she supervises Ethan as they both learn about each other  and the magic of Christmas.

Suzy Yung (Jacky Lai) is a driven Los Angeles-based architect who isn’t used to failure, so her confidence is high when she is on the cusp of a big promotion.

However, as she prepares to return to Hampton Meadows, her small hometown in Maine, for Christmas she is told that the promotion will go to the architect who submits the winning design for a  major project, and submissions need to be in by the turn of the year.

On arrival in town, she is persuaded by her old classmate Billy Martin (Tony Giroux), with the help of family pressure, to join the town's team for the big annual Happy Valley gingerbread baking competition, which her Nema (Cindy Piper) had once won.

So, despite being time poor due to the project she was working on, she felt she wasn’t able to refuse.

The other members of the team are Caitlin Keyes (Aadila Dosani) and Stavros (Eli Gabay) but its spending time up close and personal with Billy that occupies most of her time and the friendship that they had shared since high school reveals its true nature.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A RICH CHRISTMAS (2021)

 

Wealthy Marshall Rich (Bill Bellamy) punishes his selfish and spoiled socialite daughter, Valerie Rich (Tyler Abron) for stealing from him to fund a trip to Aspen.

After making her choose her own punishment, between 30 days in prison or 30 days working at the Rich Haven family homeless centre, she reluctantly chooses the latter.

She is under the impression that her father will come for her at any minute once she has learned her lesson but as soon as she accepts that she’s there for the duration she knuckles down and gets to know the people who live there.

And when the news breaks that the centre is to be sold, she galvanizes support to save the site from redevelopment.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHRISTMAS DÉJÀ VU (2021)

 

Kandi (Amber Riley) was in a girl group in high school but dropped out when her father died during a performance on Christmas Eve.

Ten years later and she is a waitress while Tracy Brittany and April (Tanya Chisholm, Chantal Maurice, and Candice Van Beauty) are a successful group.

But when the “Glow Girls” arrive at the restaurant a fight breaks out and Kandi is fired.

She is prevented from walking in front of a train by The Angel Gabriel (Ric Reitz) who then follows her to a bar where she gets drunk.

She has turned her back on God and hates Christmas and her life, so she wishes she had the life she dreamed of sh he grants her wish.

But she finds that she is just as unhappy in the life she wanted as she is in her own, but it takes a while for her to realise that its her that has to change.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – SOUL SANTA (2021)

 

After mob collector Nicky (David Mann) loses the money, he has collected in a desperate gamble to raise the money for his dream business, he has to go on the run.

He sets off in his beat-up car bound for Canada, but the car breaks down, so he is forced to take the bus to Connecticut where his estranged wife Liz (Tamela J. Mann) lives with their daughter Nevaeh (Brooke Monroe Conaway).

After confessing to her Liz agrees to let him hide out in her house and gets him a job as a shopping mall Santa at the mall where she works.

 

While the mob searches high and low for him, he tries hard to build up interest in Santa Village at the struggling mall, combats commercial sabotage and tries to win back his wife.
