THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A CHRISTMAS STORY (2009)

When the Naughty/Nice list is produced at the Northpole Santa is stunned to find that there are more Naughty children on the list than Nice for the first time ever so Santa (Douglas Campbell) refuses to go on with Christmas and leaves with Mrs. Claus (Rebecca Toolan) on their first Hawaiian holiday.

This is great news for firstborn daughter Rudolfa (Mary Donnelly-Haskell) who is waiting in the wings to succeed him and wants to turn Christmas into a creepy prank festival, but her gentle younger sister Kristen (Kathy Ireland) begs for the chance to save Christmas by redeeming a family who have lost the Christmas spirit, the Morgan’s.

Workaholic Widower Bill Morgan (John Dye) spends all his time on business and a budding affair with a close, equally workaholic spinster colleague, Harley Jones (Rachelle Carson) while his brother-in-law, Uncle Johnny (Wayne Thomas Yorke) acts as a poor role model to the cynical, materialistic, spoiled brats Kyle (James Kirk) and Brittany (Kirsten Prout).

Kristen arrives at the Morgan’s as the new au-pair, of which she has had a long list of predecessors, and slowly wins the kids over, helped by Johnny, who fears eviction, and begins to restore the Christmas spirit in the household which will ultimately save Christmas and thwart Rudolfa’s evil plan.

IT WAS IN THE BELFRY

It was in the belfry

On Christmas Eve

High in the tower

I tried to retrieve

A poor little kitten

Who was stuck

When suddenly

The bell was struck

I lost my footing

And began to fall

I thought this is

The end of it all

So I had onto grab

Or surely die

My Ding dong

Merrily on high

KEEP CHRISTMAS WELL

Keep Christmas well

Embrace its spirit

Feel its warmth and joy

Hold it in your heart

And keep its embers alight

Carry it with you

From one year to the next

So it will never end

CRIMBO

Bunting and frolic

Candles and smells

Garlands and gaiety

Baubles and bells

The holly and the ivy

Sprigs of mistletoe

Cookies and eggnog

Have a happy Crimbo

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – CHARMING CHRISTMAS

Uptight heiress of Rossman's Department store, Meredith Rossman (Julie Benz), has made the business her entire life, not leaving any time for Christmas or romance, much to the chagrin of her parents, who are Christmas obsessed.

But when she is roped into donning the store's antique Mrs. Claus outfit to play Mrs. Claus at Rossman's famous Santaville, her life takes some unexpected turns, especially after she meets the charming store Santa, Nick (David Sutcliffe), who is a mysterious figure, great with children and always there when you need him, just like the real Santa.

It was obvious from the moment Meredith put on the magical Mrs. Claus dress, that her life would never be the same and the chemistry between her and Nick was palpable, so with the help of the suit Meredith rekindles her love of Christmas, the store, their employees and possibly even begins a new love with Nick

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE CHRISTMAS PUDDING MYSTERY

It’s one week before Christmas in the small quiet town of Eden Lake, Minnesota, where Hannah Swensen (Alison Sweeney) owns and runs a successful business, Hannah's Cookie Jar, bakery and café.

Success had come at a price however because she had sacrificed the pursuit of romance while she focussed on the business for most of her adult life, but now finds herself being wooed by two men, who both know about the other man in her life, and Hannah likes both men a lot, but has never even kissed them, either of them.

Her mother, Delores Swanson (Barbara Niven), is pushing her into the arms of dentist Norman Rhodes (Gabriel Hogan) as the person who will provide her with a stable and comfortable life, her sister, Andrea Todd (Lisa Durupt), is pushing her into the arms of police detective Mike Kingston (Cameron Mathison) who works with her husband Bill, as he’s the more exciting choice.

But the choosing of a boyfriend became the least important issue in her life to be resolved after she is the person who finds someone murdered in Eden Lake, and the victim is one of her customers, Larry Jaeger (Kirby Morrow), co-owner of the Crazy Elf Christmas tree lot.

Fortunately she is an able amateur sleuth who can’t resist a mystery and as a result, her sleuthing brings her into the orbit of the Detective rather than the Dentist, and solving the crime could just solve her other dilemma.

A WINTER WONDERLAND

My bell rings, are you listening,

On your face, your lips are glistening,

A beautiful sight,

I’ll be happy tonight,

Rummaging in your winter underwear
