THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – DIFFERENT FOLKS

 

Shy high school student, Joy Hoffsteder (Bailee Madison), is from a dysfunctional family, and as Christmas approaches she looks with envious eyes at the family of her seemingly perfect neighbour's and even wishes to be part of it. 

The one day her Christmas wish comes true after she is hit by a car and bangs her head and wakes up in a different body.

It turns out however as it isn't exactly as wonderful as she'd hoped it would be as it leads to unexpected challenges.

But she does learn lessons about family and friendship and the true meaning of the Christmas season.

 Librarian Whitney (Rachel Skarsten) has been raised to be cautious by her home security expert parents (Cynthia Dale and Rob Stewart) so she surprises herself by agreeing to go on a blind date to a restaurant.

But instead of joining her date she mistakenly sits at the table of undercover FBI agent Josh (Corey Sevier) in the middle of an operation and is forced to pose as his girlfriend during dinner with his target Lou Bateman (Matt Wells) and his wife Patty (Kate Hewlett).

After that night she finds herself in a real-life adventure with Josh to prevent the theft of the  Heart of Christmas, a necklace only put on display once a year, this time at the Mistletoe Ball on Christmas Eve, at the New York Arts and History Museum.

They seem on the surface a miss matched couple, she is mad for all things Christmas and he is a Christmas hater, she is family oriented and he was raised in care, but working together she wins him round and thaws his heart.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – ONCE UPON A TIME AT CHRISTMAS (2017)

 

A small town is terrorized by a pair of a serial-killing couple on a murderous spree  dressed as Santa (Simon Phillips) and Mrs. Claus (Sayla de Goede).

With the deadly couple committing seemingly random homicides it comes down to Sheriff Mitchell (Barry Kennedy), a teenage girl called Jennifer (Laurel Brady) and a young cop Sam Fullard (Jeff Ellenberger) to try and discern the pattern behind the horrific crimes before more Christmas killings occur.

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – THE TROUBLE WITH MISTLETOE (2017)

 

Its Christmas time in San Francisco and pet shop owner Willa Davis (Rachel Melvin) is romantically cautious after a bad breakup so contents herself with the company of her clients and friends.

But then one day she encounters Keane Winters (Thomas Beaudoin), her high school crush, who once stood her up for the school prom ten years earlier.

The problem is that he doesn’t recognize her, but despite that she starts falling for him again but her head keeps over ruing her heart and vice versa.

So what will she do, will she get the man of her dreams or will she push him away? 

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – A WISH FOR CHRISTMAS (2016)

 

Chicago based talented junior web designer Sara Thomas (Lacey Chabert) allows herself to be treated as a doormat and never speaks up for herself, even her best friend Molly (Andrea Brooks).

Its only when her big idea for a Christmas initiative is stolen by her line manager Dirk Tyson (Jason McKinnon) that she decides to walk away.

But she is given a gift by Santa (Howard Storey), a Christmas Wish, so  she wishes to finally have the courage to stand up for herself and Santa grants her wish, but it will only last for 48 hours.

Her first action is to confront Dirk for stealing her work in front of everyone at the Christmas party, the result of which is Dirk loses his job and company founder and CEO, Peter Williams (Paul Greene) chooses her to accompany him on a crucial business trip to Seattle to meet with a notoriously difficult client, Wilson Taylor (Michael Ryan) to pitch her idea.

So can Sara’s newfound acts of courage win the account and save the company and win Peters heart?

THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIES EVER – MY GROWN-UP CHRISTMAS LIST (2022)

 

When journalist Taylor Nichols (Kayla Wallace) headed home to spend Christmas with Grandpa Frank (James M Jenkinson) she has two encounters with infantryman Captain Luke Malone (Kevin McGarry) who is home on leave.

The second meeting was on Christmas Eve, the anniversary of her mother’s passing, and the time when she lost the Christmas spirit, and Luke was able to lift her Christmas spirits during their short encounter.

A year later they met again when they both going home for Christmas, but this time  they spend more time together getting a chance to get to know each other and begin to fall in love.

But is there really a future for them with him serving overseas and her writing career really taking off?

It will take their next several Christmases to reveal the answer.
